Visa launches new consulting and advisory services to help customers understand the world of cryptocurrencies, according to a report by CNBC on Wednesday.

  • The payments processor stated the crypto advisory practice would provide advice to retailers, financial institutions, and other firms on everything ranging from unveiling crypto features to NFTs.
  • Visa identified American bank UMB as one of their clients already using their cryptocurrency advisory services.
  • The move marks the recent effort by Visa to progress into the crypto industry.
  • Nikola Plecas, Visa’s European crypto lead, noted that the company processed $3.5B in digital currency transactions via crypto-linked card programs from Oct. 1, 2020, to Sept. 30, 2021.
  • The company is also looking to develop products aligned to stablecoins, typically the US dollar and central bank digital currencies.
