Robinhood Markets (HOOD) stated it had released its crypto wallet for 2 million customers on a waiting list, according to a report by CoinDesk on Thursday.

  • Chief Product Officer Aprna Chennapragada announced the move during Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami.
  • Initially, only a few wallet beta testers transferred Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), and other traded coins in and out of Robinhood’s walled platform.
  • All waitlisted customers outside of the regulatory no-go regions of Nevada, New York, and Hawaii will be able to move their cryptos.
  • Chennapragada further stated that Robinhood would add support for bitcoin transactions on the Lightning Network, the speedy, affordable layer for Bitcoin.
  • Almost 10 million Robinhood customers swapped coins early in 2021, an indicator of the app’s crypto interest.
