Palantir Technologies Inc. comments on report by Rio Tinto in October that achieved a major milestone at its Kemano T2 project, according to a press release by Palantir on Tuesday.

  • The tunnel boring machine (TBM) had penetrated to complete the excavation phase of a second tunnel to carry water into the Kemano Power plant.
  • The second tunnel will enhance the long-term reliability of the power supply for Rio Tinto’s British Columbia(BC) Works furnace in Kitimat.
  • The project, scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2022, allows Rio Tinto to continue producing some of the world’s lowest carbon aluminum.
