North America-based manufacturers of semiconductor equipment posted $3.65 billion in billings worldwide in August 2021, according to a report by SEMI on Monday.
- In its August Equipment Market Data Subscription (EMDS) Billings Report, the billings were 5.4% lower than the final July 2021 billing of $3.86 billion and 37.6% higher than August 2020 billings of $2.65 billion.
- Over the last five years, the 3-month average billings has been increasing steadily but softened in August 2021 the preliminary figure of $3,650 billion from $July 2021 final figure of $3,857.4 billion.
- SEMI president and CEO Ajit Manocha stated that after a record-breaking eight-month run, the billings of North America-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers expectedly cooled down in August compared to July.
Manocha further stated that billings continue to reflect strong demand for semi-conductor equipment and solid year-over-year growth. SMH down -0.34%
