Netflix stock rose 1.2 after-hours after announcing it surpassed its viewership record for December and the holiday week of December 25-31, reports Seeking Alpha. The record rise was in terms of viewing hours and average view hours per subscriber. 

  • Netflix’s record holiday week was boosted by its new Shondaland series Bridgerton, said to have hit 63 million households since Christmas Day debut.
  • The record viewership was also boosted by the We Can Be Heroes, a spin-off film from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl from director Robert Rodriguez, which has reportedly reached 44M households.
