Germany has bought 200,000 doses of monoclonal antibody treatment for $487 million. Country will become the first in the EU to use Regeneron’s treatment, Bloomberg reports. The medication was used by the former U.S President Donald Trump when he was diagnosed with COVID-19 last year.

- Germany’s Health Minister Jens Spahn said the injection of the monoclonal antibody could help patients at risk in the early phase from developing serious conditions.
- Spahn has been under intense political pressure due to the slow rollout of the vaccination program.
- Germany has vaccinated about 1.63 million people, less than 2% of the country’s population,
