Improved inventory upgrades Ford to the top-selling automaker in September, with retail sales up 34.3% compared to August, according to a report by Ford on Monday.
- The increase in retail sales bolstered Ford’s retail share for the month to nearly 12.9%, up 3.8 percentage points over the month.
- The September report also revealed that vehicles are moving from dealers to customers at the fastest rate this year as 31% of retail sales where the customers placed the orders.
- F-Series continued to grow, marking its best month since the semiconductor shortage crisis started with 63,164 sold. In August, the retail sales for F-series rose by 13.4 percent.
- Ford’s electrified vehicle products continue to excite and attract new customers at a higher pace than Ford. The sales of Ford’s electrified vehicle rose to 9,150 over last year.
The broader Ford brand SUV retail sales rose by 56% over August as the retail share rose to 10%. Other companies, including Lincoln and Nautilus, also posted a positive increase in retail sales. F up +2.12%.
