Facebook is reportedly testing partnerships with a small group of independent writers for its new publishing platform, according to Axios. The platform includes tools for journalists to build actual websites, in addition to newsletters.
- The said publishing platform is free-to-use and will be integrated with Facebook Pages.
- The Pages integration will allow writers, journalists, and other professional experts to publish content outside text, like live videos and “Stories” status updates.
- Facebook will also build tools within the new platform that allow writers to monetize their websites and newsletters with subscriptions.
- The new platform will help writers create a loyal and engaged audience community and provide them with metrics about how content is performing.
