Delta Airlines plans to offer some 400 pilots active flying status by summer as it positions itself for a rebound in travel demand, according to CNBC. The pilots are already receiving regular pay under $15 billion in additional government aid that Congress approved late last year.
- The pilots to be recalled will undergo additional flight training to fly certain aircraft.
- Delta’s pilots avoided layoffs last year after the union agreed to reduced pay and no flying requirements for some 1,700 junior aviators.
