A crypto investor has scored what is considered as the greatest trade on record through the Shiba Inu coin, Markets Insider reported.
- The investor was recorded to have invested $8,000 in a series of trades in August 2020, accumulating about 70 trillion Shiba Inu coins. The digital token has since soared, and the holdings are estimated to be worth $5.7 billion.
- The investor reportedly bought the tokens at $0.000000000189 apiece, which has since surged to $0.00007941, reflecting a 14-month increase of over 7 million percent.
- The crypto wallet now holds over 13% of the total Shiba Inu coin, with a total circulating supply of 549 trillion coins. The owner continues to hold, but questions remain on the liquidity of the token.
- Shiba has continued to increase in the past weeks, climbing to the ninth-largest cryptocurrency in terms of value and outpacing popular meme coin Dogecoin.
A number of investors see Shiba Inu as a joke based on Dogecoin. SHIB is down 7.48%, while DOGE is down 6.40%.
