Global cryptocurrency exchange platform Coinbase Global Inc. is set to roll out its own peer-to-peer marketplace for non-fungible tokens, the company announced in a statement.
- Dubbed as Coinbase NFT, the service will have the capacity for minting, purchasing, showcasing, and discovering NFTs easier. It will have social features for conversation and discovery in a bid to boost the creator community.
- Coinbase said it will enable artists to maintain creative control through decentralized contracts and metadata transparency, with all NFTs on-chain. The initial launch will support Ethereum-based ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standards.
- The platform will have a curated personal feed, with user profiles showcasing all their NFTs in one place, allowing them to connect with like-minded fans or artists and give room for possible collaborations.
Coinbase has allowed early access signups, with plans to supply other chains moving forward. COIN is down 0.13% premarket.
