Advanced Micro Devices is set to buy cloud-services provider Pensando Systems for $1.9B to expand its data center capabilities, according to a press release by AMD on Monday.
- Pensando’s platform will expand the AMD product portfolio with a high-performance packet processor and software stack installed at a large scale across cloud and enterprise customers.
- AMD will be equipped better to deliver a wider portfolio of high-performance and adaptive solutions to capitalize on the rapidly growing demand for data center computing capabilities.
- In real-world cloud installations, Pensando’s services show 8x and 13x greater performance compared to the competitive solutions.
Pensando’s technology will integrate AMD’s CPUs, GPUs, field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), and adaptive computing engines with the company’s packet processor. AMD: NASDAQ is down -0.19%
